PROTESTERS SHUT AVENUE BRAZIL AFTER THE DEATH OF A RESIDENT AT THE VILLA KENNEDY

Residents of the Villa Kennedy in Bangu , in the West Zone of Rio , close , on Sunday morning , the lanes of Avenida Brazil . They said the protest would be because of the death of the resident Alexander Ramos da Silva , 18 , in the early hours of Sunday . Protesters told that Alexander was taking his girlfriend home , along with his friend Jackson Ng , aged 17 , when he was shot in the head . Jackson was wounded in the arm and taken to the Albert Schwitzer Hospital in Royal one .

According to the commander of the 14th Battalion ( Bangor ) , Lieutenant Colonel Moreira Glaucio , there was a confrontation at about 4pm , between rival factions that fight for the dominion of the hill . The commander said that when traffickers were fleeing , they saw the basing of PM , which occupies the community since Aug. 9 , and shot . The military retaliated . During the confrontation , the two were shot .

The Homicide Division has expertise in site but not collected weapons from the military. In the opinion of the commander Glaucio Moreira , the demonstration is being orchestrated by the faction that lost territory this week .

According to Colonel Fausto Neto , commander of Battalion Policing in Special Routes ( BPVE ) , PMs unit are in place . Men of the 14th Battalion ( Bangor ) were also triggered .

Protesters set fire to tires and ask for justice . This week , a bus was incediado on site. The community is host to a struggle to control drug trafficking by two gangs . On Tuesday , an invasion of criminals provoked intense firefights .
