  Environment - -Indigenous protestors seek Norwegian 'asylum' for Brazilian tree   BRASILIA, Sept 21 (Reuters) -  Indigenous activists delivered a Jatoba tree to Norway's embassy in Brasilia on Tuesday, seeking "refugee" status for it in a symbolic protest against the destruction of Brazil's Amazon rainforest. The protest coincided with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro at the United Nations General Assembly defending what he described as his government's fight against deforestation of the rainforest. The protest was staged by an indigenous umbrella organization, the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (APIB). The Jatoba, sometimes referred to as Brazilian Cherry due to its burgundy-colored hard wood, grows in the Amazon and other biomes of South America. September (Reuters) -  Indigene Aktivisten übergaben am Dienstag der norwegischen Botschaft in Brasilia einen Jatoba-Baum, um in einem symbolischen Protest gegen die Zerstörung des brasilianischen Amazonas-Regenwaldes den Status eines „Flüchtlings“ zu beantragen. Der Protest fiel zusammen mit dem brasilianischen Präsidenten Jair Bolsonaro bei der Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen, der den Kampf seiner Regierung gegen die Abholzung des Regenwaldes verteidigte. Der Protest wurde von einer indigenen Dachorganisation, der Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (APIB), inszeniert.     BRASILIA, 21 septembre (Reuters) -  Des militants indigènes ont livré mardi un arbre de Jatoba à l'ambassade de Norvège à Brasilia, en quête du statut de "réfugié" dans le cadre d'une protestation symbolique contre la destruction de la forêt amazonienne du Brésil. La manifestation a coïncidé avec le président brésilien Jair Bolsonaro à l'Assemblée générale des Nations Unies défendant ce qu'il a décrit comme la lutte de son gouvernement contre la déforestation de la forêt tropicale. La manifestation a été organisée par une organisation faîtière autochtone, l'Articulation des peuples autochtones du Brésil (APIB).
