Net, Claro e Embratel Unite to Launch Telecommunications Service

PACKAGE CALLED 'COMBO MULTI' COULD GENERATE 30% OF ECONOMY.

COMPANIES WILL INTEGRATE NETWORKS TO TAKE WEB, TV AND TELEPHONE SERVICES.

The companies Net, Claro and Embratel announced this Wednesday (5) the integration of their networks and services to offer TV, telephone and internet packages.
The "Combo Multi" package will carry pay-TV, video on demand, fixed broadband, wi-fi (residential and in public places), 3G internet (with modem and smartphone) and landline.
"This is not a merger," said NET president José Antonio Felix. "It's a business partnership just like we've done over the years. The three companies are focused on their segments and complementary to their services." He comments that the possibility of a merger is something for the future, which depends on the decision of the shareholders.
The joint service will be available in four options, with monthly payments starting at R $ 400. There are plans still of R $ 500 and R $ 600, which aggregate the services of the three companies.
The companies say that the economy when signing the package will be 30% in relation to the price charged for the products separately. The packages will be marketed from October 15 and will be available in the cities and homes served by the networks of the three companies. The companies will launch new service features in the coming months.
The most expensive package will be $ 700 and includes cable TV in high definition with more than 160 channels, digital recording, access to video service on demand, free telephone to any local cell phone or DDD, 100 minutes of calls to Net Fone via local Embratel or DDD, 500 minutes of local calls to other mobile operators, 500 torpedoes, 500 MB of data in the mobile phone, 2 telephone lines, 10 Mbps internet, residential Wi-Fi, 3G modem with 2 GB plan and free access to Wi-Fi hot spots.
People can move between different networks and technologies "

"We begin the process of creating complete multiservice solutions that will deliver connectivity, mobility, economy, entertainment and information at any time and place," said Net President José Antonio Felix.
Carlos Zenteno, president of Claro, says Combo Multi represents a "break in the telecommunications market, because it changes the way people relate to technology and experience convergence."
"People can move between different networks and technologies. There will be many more services available and greater savings [of customers]," said José Formoso, president of Embratel.

According to Márcio Carvalho, director of products and services of Net, engineers are already studying how companies could share the networks when needed. "Nothing prevents Net to help Claro expand its network, for example," he said.
Carvalho says that for now, every company is using its technology. "The infrastructure of each is individual." Claro president Carlos Zenteno said the operator will use Embratel and Net infrastructures to expand 3G broadband coverage to cities that still do not have access to the service.
Single account The three companies will have a service center dedicated to the Combo Multi located in the city of Americana, in the interior of São Paulo. They will respond to requests from new customers and from those who already subscribe to a service from the three companies that wants to migrate to the package. Those who call one of the three companies requesting the Multi Combo, according to the executives, will be attended to normally or referred to this plant.
The client will receive two accounts, NET service and Embratel and another from Claro. However, they will come in a single Multi-Combo envelope.
Business executives do not reveal the expectation of customers hoping to have the new service, but say they will use the companies' existing installed base. Plans can also be offered to subscribers as a complement to the services they already have. "We are covering all telecommunication spending of users with the package," said Márcio Carvalho, NET's director of products and services.
