“Dash to DC.”

Stacey Dash Has Decided to Run for Congress

The Clueless actress has been a self-appointed mouthpiece of African-American conservatives since 2012.

Stacey Dash is running for office. You probably know Dash from Clueless the movie, Clueless the television show, and Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens.

More recently, though, you know her from the conservative talking points she imparted as a former Fox News correspondent. And now, she’ll be making a play for the U.S. Congress in California’s 44th District, which is currently a democratic stronghold in South Los Angeles.

The appropriate paperwork arrived on the Federal Election Commission Web site on Monday. Her candidate committee is listed as “Dash to DC.”

Like George Washington, she is a reluctant public servant and only moved forward with her campaign after polling Twitter and receiving a decent ratio. On February 22, she tweeted, “Things are taking shape.” That was not ominous enough. On February 23, she tweeted, “Soon.”

As of Monday, a campaign Web site exists with a logo and everything. For a short moment Monday afternoon, the site included her photo, a volunteer sign up form, and an “about” section. It included a recap of her childhood, her acting career, and her claim to current fame:

“Stacey’s political interests originally became public and sparked controversy during the 2012 presidential election when she endorsed presidential candidate Mitt Romney on her personal Facebook and Twitter accounts, and subsequently endured heavy criticism for supporting a conservative candidate.

She did it again in 2016 when she bucked the Hollywood film industry and supported Donald Trump for president.” The site, however, returned to just the U.R.L. and logo by the time of publish.
