Madonna joined the # EleNão campaign and positioned herself against presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro (PSL). The artist shared a photo in which she appears muzzled with the word "freedom" written under the banner. In the image credited to Aldo Diaz, Madonna used the hashtag and the words: "he will not devalue us," "he will not overwhelm us," "he will not shut us up." Below the picture, Madonna still urges "to end fascism".
Other international artists have opposed the ideas propagated by the PSL candidate. The 23-year-old English singer, songwriter and model Dua Lipa was on Twitter, where she has more than 2.5 million followers. "He said he would rather have his son die than be gay." And in front of the TV cameras, he told a congresswoman that he would not rape her because she was ugly. "
"I interviewed Jair Bolsonaro for Gaycation. He is a dangerous, homophobic, racist, and misogynist man who currently leads the presidential race in Brazil," Ellen Page reminded an interview with Bolsonaro for the Gaycation show in 2016.
