Australian Families of Crime
From Wednesday 25 July at 21:00

Australian Families

This hard-hitting investigative series exposes life inside some of Australia’s most notorious criminal families. Through personal interviews with family members, associates, victims and investigators, each episode explores how the nation's worst criminals have spun their terrifying webs of violence and corruption.

Examples include the case of one-eyed crime matriarch Kath Pettingill, whose ten children either went to early graves, prison or witness protection. Also featured is Abe ‘Mr Sin’ Saffron, who ruled his family with an iron fist. Involved in illicit alcohol sales, dealing in stolen goods, illegal gambling, prostitution, drug dealing, bribery, extortion and murder, Saffron even had his son committed to a psychiatric hospital and denied him access to his own children.

A fast-paced combination of archival vision and gripping re-enactments, this powerful series exposes the fetid and amoral world of this ruthless band of thieves, drug dealers and killers.
