UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE WORLD

The invasion and occupation of Iraq is an unspeakable violence. Produce tens of thousands of deaths, famine spread, spread despair. Today, despite the huge manipulation done by the mainstream media, it is impossible to deny the numerous atrocities, epitomized by the systematic torture practiced against prisoners at Abu Ghraib, the bombing of the city of Falluja, responsible for thousands of deaths, especially women and children . Still, one question remains: why the U.S. invaded Iraq?

The first answer claims that Iraq harbored terrorists and that Saddam Hussein had links to Al Qaeda, Osama Bin Ladden. Nothing more false: Saddam government commanding a non-religious, so radically opposed to the Islamic fundamentalists who advocate Bin Ladden. Evidently the United States knew that, because Saddam Hussein supported and financed by more than a decade, during the war between Iran and Iraq.

Another argument used was that Iraq possessed "weapons of mass destruction" and thus posed a danger to humanity. A double lie: in the last fifteen years, Iraq was subjected to a harsh economic blockade, led by the United States, which in addition to starve more than 1 million Iraqis (with 500,000 children), the military became his totally outdated (the which is proved by the ease with which the United States invaded the country and defeated his army).

Another argument used by the United States is still the "democratization" of Iraq. In fact, Saddam Hussein was a dictator. But there are dozens of other dictators in the world who have the support of the United States, beginning with the governments of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan and Egypt, Bush's staunchest allies. Moreover, far from establishing a democracy, the United States slaughtering the Iraqi people, promoting a fraudulent election in which only his supporters participate in practice and requires a much more violent dictatorship.
