Walking through cafezal favela in Belo Horizonte, Brasil, we came upon this young girl. With her size 12 sandles and standing in the cold rain. It seems so hopeless. I have been traveling through the slums of Belo Horizonte a city of 3 million and the capital of Minas Gerais state. The living conditions in these neighborhoods are unbelivable for most people of the west.

Hi Adam,Here in Northeast of Brazil we have a lot of children in the same conditions. Unfortunately it is the real situation of our country.

It is very photo journalistic. B&W could make this picture stronger: you have the angle of view, the fierce gaze of the girl in a gangster pose, and the shacks and dirty street behind.Photo Information
