AVERAGE OF DEATHS AND CASES
To explain the pandemic situation, Poder360 uses the 7-day moving average as a metric. This is the daily average of deaths and cases in the last 7 days, including the date.
The indicator shades any abrupt variations, especially on weekends, when there are fewer reported cases. On these days there are fewer employees in the state departments of Health and the Ministry of Health to report and compile data, respectively.
With the additions of this Friday (9.Jul.2021), the average of deaths per covid-19 is 1,391 , the lowest since March 4, when it reached 1,353.
The daily average of new cases stands at 47,576 , according to official figures. The curve is down 36% from two weeks earlier, on June 25th. Has more than 15% reduction for 10 days. When the decrease reaches this level, experts consider there is a drop in the moving average.
PROPORTIONAL DEATHS
Brazil has 2,492 deaths per million inhabitants. The worst situations are in Rondônia, Mato Grosso, Rio de Janeiro, Amazonas and the Federal District, with more than 3,000 deaths per million.
The rates consider the number of deaths confirmed by the Ministry of Health and the population estimate by the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) for the year 2021 in each unit of the Federation.
Brazil occupies the 8th position in the world ranking of proportional deaths, according to the Worldometer panel .
The list is led by Peru, with 5,799 deaths per million. At the end of May, the country revised the data and climbed to the top of the ranking, a position previously held by Hungary.
