Cid reported that Braga Netto paid 'black kid' with money from the agricultural sector

 

Bolsonaro's former aide-de-camp told the Supreme Court that the general attributed the financing of the coup plot to "agricultural workers"

The most recent plea bargains by Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid motivated the decision by the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, to arrest General Walter Braga Netto (PL) this Saturday (14). Among the most important excerpts is the report that the former Defense Minister passed on to one of the military “black kids” money that financed an attempted coup operation, in bags of wine. To the STF, Cid said he heard Braga Netto say that the money had been obtained by “agribusiness people”.

Former aide-de-camp to former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), Mauro Cid convinced the PF and Moraes about his alleged leadership, organization and financing role in the so-called “Operation Green and Yellow Dagger” at the “
2022 WORLD CUP” event. In his testimony on November 21 to the STF, Cid changed the version he gave to the PF on March 11 about the meeting in which Braga Netto handed over money to a “black kid” to finance the coup plot that planned the assassinations of the STF minister himself, President Lula (PT) and his vice Geraldo Alckmin (PSB).

“The general directly transferred money in a wine bag to then-Major Rafael de Oliveira, which would be used to finance the expenses necessary to carry out the operation. The money was delivered in a wine bag. General Braga Netto stated at the time that the money had been obtained from people in agribusiness,” said Mauro Cid, in his testimony to the Supreme Court.

In his decision released today, Moraes concludes, based on Cid's new testimony: “There is strong evidence and substantial proof that, in the context of the criminal organization, the investigated Walter Souza Braga Netto contributed, to a more effective and highly important degree than previously known, to the planning and financing of a coup d'état, the consummation of which presumed, in the view of the investigated, the illegal detention and possible execution [of Moraes, Lula and Alckmin] and, eventually, the arrests of people who could offer any institutional resistance to the coup attempt.”

Deadly plot denied

Braga Netto's defense released a statement in which it states that it will prove that the former Defense Minister did not obstruct the investigations into the coup plot.

In November, the STF revealed an alleged plot for a coup d'état with assassinations, at the end of 2022. And it cited Braga Netto as listed alongside General Augusto Heleno in a draft that envisaged establishing an “Institutional Crisis Management Office” that would command such an agency that would be created by military personnel allied with Bolsonaro.

When commenting on rumors, back in November, that such a cabinet would represent a coup against Bolsonaro himself, General Braga Netto denied having discussed a coup, much less the plan to assassinate Lula, Alckmin and Moraes, as reported in the Federal Police investigation. The general was indicted in November, accused of attempting a coup d'état to abolish democracy at the end of 2022.

“It was never a coup, much less a plan to assassinate someone. Now part of the press is coming up with this fanciful and absurd theory of a “coup within a coup”. Let’s be creative…”, wrote Braga Netto, when publishing a note from his technical defense, on his social networks.
