Initially, the truck drivers did not accept the government's proposal, which only intended to zero the Cide (Contribution of Intervention in the Economic Domain) on diesel.

Petrobras announced on Wednesday (23), 10% rebates on diesel at refineries for 15 days to give the government time to negotiate with the sector, as the protests, which compromised the distribution of goods and fuels in the country, were announced.

This was not enough to meet the main demand of the road: the predictability of price adjustments. The agreement only came out when the government gave in and promised to guarantee 10% discounts for another 15 days â € "which will cost R $ 350 millionâ €" and assumed to subsidize Petrobras, which will begin to make monthly adjustments instead of passing on price changes daily to the refineries, as it does today. This arrangement should be in place by the end of this year.

The agreement does not mean that the motion will be halted in full as of this Friday, 25. A fraction of the representatives of the category did not subscribe to the government document.

Finance Minister Eduardo Guardia said the agreement does not compromise Petrobras' autonomy in defining its pricing policy.

The truck drivers were able to include other claims. The sector will be out of the reoneration of the sheet until December 2020, will be exempt from toll on federal highways for suspension axles and freelancers will be guaranteed 30% of Conab (National Supply Company) freight.

The Minister of the Civil House, Eliseu Padilha, who coordinated the negotiations, said that a new round of negotiations is scheduled in 15 days. Until then, the representatives of the truck drivers commit to suspend the strike.
