Carmen Lúcia calls for a change for parliamentarism without consulting the population
The President of the Supreme Court for June attempted an action that asks whether it is possible to move from the presidential system to the parliamentary system through a PEC (proposed amendment to the Constitution) b, ie without referendum. The debate is scheduled for June 20.
According to columnist Ancelmo Góis, in O Globo, the 1997 proposal was drafted by federal deputy Jaques Wagner. The columnist pointed out that two plebiscites on this issue had already been carried out without the population adhering to the proposal: one in 1963 and another in 1993.
In addition to parliamentarism, Carmen Lúcia will discuss the legality of the printed vote, the creation of four regional federal courts and two controversial issues of labor reform: union contribution and irregular contract.
The information comes from the newspaper O Globo de Segunda (28).
